University of Worcester (U of W) in Worcester, UK

For third-year BME participants, studying at University of Worcester is convenient, accessible and affordable. U of W is in the very centre of the United Kingdom – 40 minutes from Birmingham and its international airport, and just over 2 hours from London. It is a historic, riverside cathedral city with a thriving student population and student-oriented culture.

Worcester is full of  quirky eateries, student clubs and bars (all at value-for-money prices), as well as high street and boutique fashion. The city offers a taste of ‘real England’ with its locally-brewed ales, traditional pubs, cobbled side streets, county cricket played against the backdrop of its Cathedral, premier league rugby, thoroughbred horse racing, and river-based activities.


At U of W, third-year BME students follow the programme "Bachelor (Hons) International Business Management" consisting of the following courses*:
  • International Business Project
  • Intercultural Perspectives
  • International Marketing
  • International Business Strategy
  • Business Option (elective)**:

Apart from the variable transportation costs students incur when travelling to and from their home country, the following 2 cost estimates need to be considered for participating in BME's third year:
  • the cost of living near the third-year partner institution​
  • the yearly tuition fee of the third-year partner institution
Estimates of the cost of living near U of W vary with the specific student's lifestyle, but a typical figure is between £ 500 and £ 750 per month.

U of W's yearly tuition fee for academic year 2018-2019 is £ 9.250 (there is a bursary available reducing the tuition fee to £ 8.250). This online overview has more specifics on tuition.

In the UK, the tuition fee does not have to be paid immediately. Students can apply for a study loan via Student Finance England (if their terms and conditions are met). This loan only has to be repaid in instalments when you earn £ 20.000 or more gross a year. Refer to "What you repay" for more specifics.


For the third BME year also, the quality of the student accommodation significantly contributes to a participant's overall experience. Therefore, again carefully research housing options before committing to a selection and always visit the accommodation before sending a first deposit or signing the contract. Note that students wishing to receive both the UCLL degree and the U of W degree, must, in addition to the 60 ECTS studied as part of the U of W degree, successfully pass an additional 7.5 ECTS Foreign language module.
